Silence! The Musical Welcomes Kevin Spirtas, Tyler Maynard and Sarah O’Gleby

Silence! The Musical, which plays Off-Broadway’s Elektra Theatre, welcomes a trio of new actors beginning May 4: Kevin Spirtas (Dr. Chilton), Tyler Maynard(Sgt. Pembry) and Sarah O’Gleby(Dream Clarice). Spirtas has appeared on Broadway in A Chorus Line (Mike), The Boy from Oz(standby for Hugh Jackman) and Meet Me in St. Louis (Warren Sheffield). His numerous film and TV credits include “Friends,” “Married with Children,” “Quantum Leap,” “L.A. Heat,” “Silk Stalkings,” “Fired Up,” “Defying Gravity,” “A Match Made in Heaven,” “Striking Resemblance” and “Days of Our Lives” (eight seasons as Dr. Craig Wesley). He also starred as Corny Collins in the Las Vegas production of Hairspray. See more……..

Silence! Will Welcome Stage and Screen Star Kevin Spirtas

Silence! The Musical, which recently resumed performances Off-Broadway at the Elektra Theatre, will welcome Kevin Spirtas to the role of Dr. Hannibal Lecter’s nemesis, Dr. Chilton, beginning May 4. Tyler Maynard, as previously reported, steps into the role of the hapless Sgt. SILENCE! Extends Run at the Elektra Theatre Through 9/1

Due to overwhelming demand, the producers of Silence! The Musical today put a new block of tickets on sale through September 1st.

2012′s Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical, Silence! The Musical is the unauthorized parody of THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS, with book by Hunter Bell, music & lyrics by Jon and Al Kaplan, and direction & choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli. After opening initially at Theatre 80 on July 9, 2011 to unanimous rave reviews, SILENCE! was extended numerous times by popular demand and transferred theatres twice, ultimately landing at the new Elektra Theatre in Times Square which was constructed especially for the show. SILENCE! was also selected by Time Magazine as one of 2011′s Top 5 Musicals (on or Off-Broadway). See more…… 

L.A. Weekly Theater Awards 2013: The Winners

SILENCE! Kicks Off New Spring Schedule Beginning March 30

Following the announcement that SILENCE! would be ending its long run at the end of 2012, ticket sales unexpectedly soared, shattering all previous box office records held by the show. Subsequently, the producers determined that the production would reopen on January 19th. After opening initially at Theatre 80 on July 9, 2011 to unanimous rave reviews, SILENCE! was extended numerous times by popular demand and transferred theatres twice, ultimately landing at the new Elektra Theatre which was constructed especially for the show. Laura Jordan is Silence! The Musical’s New Clarice Starling

Laura Jordan is taking down a serial killer in off-Broadway’s award-winning musical parody Silence! The Musical. Jordan will star as Clarice Starling opposite fellow Broadway veteran Sean McDermott as Hannibal Lecter at the Elektra Theatre beginning April 6. Based on the Oscar-winning film, Silence of the LambsSilence! The Musical plays through May 26.
In Silence! The Musical, rookie FBI agent Clarice Starling matches wits with the brilliant but insane cannibal, Dr. Hannibal Lecter, in order to catch the mysterious serial killer known only as Buffalo Bill. Clarice faces her own demons while racing the clock to unlock Lecter’s clues before another innocent girl is killed and skinned by Buffalo Bill.

War Horse, Book of Mormon, Silence! Among L.A. Drama Critics Award Winners

The 44th annual Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle (LADCC) Awards ceremony, hosted by French Stewart (“3rd Rock From the Sun”), was held March 18 at 7:30 PM at the Los Angeles Theatre Center in downtown L.A. Two L.A. world premieres were among the year’s top productions: romantic musicalJustin Love (Celebration Theatre) and the contemporary spin on a French classic,Cyrano (co-produced by Deaf West Theatre and The Fountain Theatre). Also winning Best Production were The Book of Mormon (Anne Garefino and Scott Rudin, Pantages Theatre) and War Horse (Center Theatre Group, Bob Boyett, National Theatre of Great Britain, Ostar Productions and Ken Gentry at Ahmanson Theatre).
